Go T.E.C.H. (Teams Encouraging Campus Health) participates in, and hosts a number of health and well-being centered events each year. Go T.E.C.H. events include:

  • President's Campus Walk
  • Faculty and Staff Health Fair
  • MLK Day 5k
  • Publix Georgia Marathon & Half Marathon
  • Kaiser Permanente Corporate 5K

Well-Being Health Fair

Go T.E.C.H. is hosting the eighth annual Health & Well-Being Fair on Wednesday, May 10, 2017. All faculty, staff and students are invited to attend the Health Fair free of charge.

The Health & Well-Being Fair will take place in both the Campus Recreation Complex (CRC) from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Visit the main floor of the CRC for vendor tabling, free samples, health screenings, fitness demonstrations, and more.

Vendors from on campus as well as the Atlanta area will be present to provide information regarding their programs and services. Confirmed vendors include Blue Cross Blue Shield of GA, DePoe Eye Center, Good Measure Meals, Kaiser Permanente, Office of Human Resources, Sherwood Chiropractic Center, Tech Dentistry, and more.

Health screenings will be available from 9:30 a.m. through 1:30 p.m. in CRC Room 240. These screenings help detect health issues such as heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol, and assess the function of vital organs. Fees vary based on the type of screening selected. The Health & Well-Being Fair was created to provide health and wellness information to the Georgia Tech community during National Employee Health & Fitness (NEHF) Month, which is held in May each year. Administered annually by the National Association for Health & Fitness, NEHF is a national health observance, created to prmotoe the benefits of physical activity for individuals through their work site health promotion activities

President's Campus Walk

Join your Georgia Tech colleagues for a walk through campus on Thursday, May 11, 2017. Two routes will be offered this year: a one-mile option and a three-mile option, both along the Tyler Brown Pi Mile.

At this year's walk we will celebrate the completion of the University System of Georgia's HealthTrails challenge. Free snacks will be provided to all those who have reached 300 miles during the challenge; snacks will be available at the end of the walk. Additionally, the winners of the 300 mile giveaways will be announced.

Meet at the Campus Recreation Center entrance on the day of the Campus Walk. Check-in will begin at 4:00 p.m., and end promptly at 4:30 p.m. The walk kicks off immediately following the welcome and announcements.

Registration is available online through mycrc.gatech.edu. On-site registration will be available from 4 p.m. through 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 11. Please note registration will end promptly at 4:30p.m.

The W10 parking deck, located next to the CRC, will open at 4 p.m. for those with annual parking permits.

Hydration Station

Georgia Tech Hydration Station at the Publix Georgia Marathon

Be a part of the Georgia Tech Hydration Station, a Tradition of Excellence! Volunteers are the heart & "sole" of the Publix Marathon and Half Marathon. Join us at the 10th anniversary of this great event on Sunday, March 19, 2017.

Publix Georgia Marathon, Half Marathon, and Wheelchair Half Marathon start and finish at Centennial Olympic Park. The Georgia Tech Hydration Station marks the beginning of the last mile of the race and will be located on the Georgia Tech campus. We need volunteers for set up, cheering, water distribution, and break down. Be a part of the excitement! All prize money will benefit Georgia Tech campus health programs.

Running or walking in the race? When registering, select Georgia tech as your team and it will count toward our total number of volunteers!
